The YMC VCS-01 automatically calibrates the sensitivity, linearity, amplitude-frequency characteristic and phase-frequency characteristic of a vibration sensor and forms the corresponding test report.

The YMC VCS-01 automatically calibrates the sensitivity, linearity, amplitude-frequency characteristic and phase-frequency characteristic of a vibration sensor and forms the corresponding test report. YMC states that the system is simple in composition and easy to operate, and that it conforms to ISO 16063-21:2003 “Methods for the calibration of vibration and shock transducers — Part 21: Vibration calibration by comparison to a reference transducer”. It accurately calibrates acceleration, velocity and displacement sensors and vibration meters with voltage, charge, IEPE and other outputs, and supports point-by-point comparison, sinusoidal sweep, random excitation and shock excitation methods of calibration.

  • Phase uncertainty: Urel = 0.5° ~ 1.0°
  • Annual stability: ≤0.5 %
  • Linearity of amplitude: ≤0.5 %

Standard vibration services (YMC4808 + YMCLA-500)

  • Frequency range: 5 Hz ~ 10000 Hz
  • Acceleration range: 1 m/s² ~ 700 m/s² (bare table)
  • Max. velocity: 1.4 m/s
  • Max. displacement: 12.7 mm
  • Frequency stability: ≤0.1 %
  • Amplitude stability: ≤0.3 %
  • Distortion: ≤5 %
  • Transverse vibration: ≤10 %
  • Sensitivity amplitude calibration uncertainty (k=2): 1 % ~ 2 %
  • Sensitivity phase shift calibration uncertainty (k=2): 1° ~ 2°

The system consists of

  • Standard accelerometer: natural quartz sensing element, high stability
  • Standard exciter: permanent magnet shaker with low distortion, wide frequency response and high stability
  • Linear power amplifier: high signal/noise ratio, wide frequency range and small distortion
  • Multi-function vibration analyzer (2 output, 4 input): 500 kHz signal output conversion rate and 1 MHz 4-channel synchronised sampling rate
  • Test and calibration software: completes all testing to the set conditions and outputs reports; automatically adjusts internal gain from the measured sensor sensitivity to hold signal/noise ratio and testing accuracy

Measurement chain

  • Standard sensor and calibrated sensor mounted back-to-back on the standard exciter
  • Charge amplifier
  • Vibration controller
  • Calibration software
  • Power amplifier driving the exciter
