Electromechanical defects

The Electromechanical Defects Simulation Addon for the TMFSS Macro simulates the electromechanical defects that occur in industrial machinery. It extends the TMFSS Macro simulator to the interaction between electrical and mechanical systems, and to the defects that arise there. Electromechanical systems — motors, generators, actuators and sensors — combine electrical and mechanical components, and are used across industry. They fail in several ways: electrical short circuits, insulation failures, bearing faults and imbalance, each of which affects system performance and reliability. The addon models those defects in detail, showing their causes, their effects, and the diagnostic methods used to detect and mitigate them. Users can run scenarios such as motor winding failure, a mechanical misalignment that disturbs electrical operation, and the effect of electromagnetic forces on mechanical components.
